There’s something truly special about welcoming familiar faces back time and time again — and this weekend gave us a story we’ll be smiling about for a long while.

Ivan and Vivienne are regular visitors, the kind of guests who feel more like old friends each time they arrive. So it was a real pleasure to see them return once again for the Mull Music Festival, something they’ve clearly grown to love just as much as we do.

But this visit came with a beautiful surprise.

Quietly, and without any fanfare, Ivan and Vivienne chose this particular weekend to get married. No big announcement, no guest list, no elaborate plans — just the two of them, marking one of life’s most important moments in their own simple, meaningful way.

There’s something incredibly touching about that kind of decision. In a world where weddings are often grand, busy, and sometimes overwhelming, theirs was the complete opposite — calm, personal, and centred entirely around their love for one another.

The day itself was lovely. The music carrying on in the background, the sense of familiarity in a place they clearly hold dear, and a quiet kind of joy that didn’t need a crowd to make it real. It felt intimate in the truest sense — not just because there were no guests, but because every part of it seemed genuine and unforced.

We felt incredibly honoured to be part of it, even in a small way. To witness such a moment, and to know that our little corner played a role in their story, is something we won’t forget.

Ivan and Vivienne reminded us that weddings don’t need to be big to be meaningful. Sometimes, the most powerful moments are the simplest ones — shared between two people who know exactly what matters.

We wish them both a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and many more visits to come.
